This plugin allows you to publish the title of your WordPress post as the status of your Facebook business page or profile. You can set it up so each WordPress author can setup their own Facebook access.

Steps to set up this pulgin:

  1. In your WordPress admin go to: Plugins > Add New
  2. Search for the plugin name “FT FacePress II”
  3. Activate Plugin
  4. Under the “Settings” menu choose “FacePress II Admin”
  5. Follow instructions on page to finish

Web Design Patterns and Color Palettes

Any web designers our there in need of some inspiration?  Well here you go!  I have come across some great patterns and color palettes that are sure to make your design stand out.

Patterns / Textures:

Using patterns and textures for backgrounds are a great way to add a little something extra to your website.  In my opinion the subtle the better.  You don’t want to distract the user with flashy colors, but at the same time it’s nice to have something in the background that makes the rest of the site stand out, and makes the user focus on what you really want them to take action on.  A buddy of mine sent me this link a month or two ago and I loved it!

There are over 90 different high quality design patterns to choose from and they often post new designs weekly.  If you don’t end up using any of them at least they will inspire you to create your own styles that fit your business needs.

Color Palettes:

Often times we spend a good amount of time trying to get the perfect blend of colors across a design.  Using just the right amount of different colors to make the users experience a positive one.  Some designers might take a couple of hours coming up with a beautiful color scheme, and if a client ends up hating it, your heart might get broken and hours of time have been lost.  This site provides a ton of beautiful color palettes that are definitely worth trying out, it’s super fast to select a palette and the choices are endless.

Thanks to Kuler this site not only has thousands of color palettes to choose from, but you can even customize them the way you want.  Start off with a basic theme and then go into the editor and add your own twist.

I really love the high quality work and with over 50 icons, panels, and buttons, this template makes it really easy to design mockups for clients.

Adobe Releases Flash-to-HTML5 Converter

As many of you might already know, the challenge of having a flash website or just having flash animations or videos in general is that it can not be viewed on certain apple products like the iPhone and iPad.  Adobe has developed an experimental Flash-to-HTML5 conversion tool codenamed “Wallaby”.  Once again they have come out with another great solution that could change the industry.

Watch the video sneak peak below as they demonstrate how simple it is to take a flash animation and convert it into HTML5.  They also go deeper into showing you how to take just one element created in flash, and bring it into your website as it’s on single animation.

WordPress to Twitter

WordPress to Twitter plugin lets you posts a your blog post into your Twitter stream.  It also lets you set up tweets to become blog post.

Additional features:

  • Use tags as Twitter hashtags
  • Use alternate URLs in place of post permalinks
  • Support for Google Analytics

Any status update you write which is longer than the available space will automatically be shortened by the plugin. This applies to both the default messages and to your custom messages.

WordPress plugin “Limit Post Options”

A great way to make the homepage for your blog much cleaner looking.
Download the plugin “Limit Post Options”

  1. Login to WordPress Admin, then under “Plugins” choose “Add New“
  2. Search for “Limit Post Options“
  3. Install and Activate the Plugin.
  4. Go to “Settings” and choose “Limit Post Options” -  In here you can set the character limit, word count limit, and more.  I recommend you use the default “First Paragraph” then choose “home” so it will only effect the homepage of your blog.
